Cady Heron thought she’d never experience the drama-filled halls of high school in the States. Having spent most of her teenage years being homeschooled in Africa, she’s more comfortable around the animals she’s spent her fair share of time with. When her diplomatic parents receive a posting to an affluent community in Illinois, she finds herself uprooted and enrolled at the popular North Shore High School.
North Shore is everything Cady’s not used to: fashionably conscious, socially aggressive, and as divided as they come. The divide extends far beyond economic statuses and racial background. The dynamics at North Shore are cutthroat. Factions form, alliances break, friendships foster- or so it seems. It’s amidst this tumultuous landscape that Cady gets adopted by ‘The Plastics.’ A trio of immaculately dressed and coiffed popular girls – queen bee Regina George, insecure Gretchen Wieners, and vacuous Karen Smith.
