In the dark and gritty streets of New York City, a brilliant and renowned biochemist, Michael Morbius, is desperate to cure his rare blood disorder. His search for a cure leads him to experiment with a radical approach that combines human and vampire bat DNA. However, his bold attempt at saving his life comes at a terrible cost as he soon discovers that he has become a living vampire, cursed with an insatiable thirst for blood and gifted with extraordinary abilities.

As Morbius struggles to control his newfound powers, a vicious killer emerges, seeking to wreak havoc on the city. The once-respected scientist must now confront his own demons and the true nature of his condition, all while navigating his complicated relationships and trying to make amends for his past mistakes. Will he be able to overcome the monster within, or will his eternal curse consume him?
